Client/Veterinarian Discussion

Knowing more about your pet's condition can make all the difference in their treatment. Below are a handful of key questions to be sure you cover with your veterinarian. After you get the answers, you should feel more comfortable in helping control your companion's condition.

1. Discuss the signs of hypoglycemia, the condition opposite of diabetes.

2. Discuss the signs of hyperglycemia, the symptoms of a diabetic patient (water intake
urination and volume, etc.)

3. Owners should roll the insulin vial rather than shake it to adequately mix the contents.

4. Ensure you understand from your veterinarian the appropriate method of administration including reading the appropriate dose on the insulin syringe.
